This program is open to all interested teachers.
There are no restictions on registration.
This year-long K-8 program begins with a summer institute, continues during the school year with follow-up meetings, and local support and culminates with a student exhibition of learning and action projects. Designed for interdisciplinary studies and teaching of environmental literacy and global competence, teachers will examine sustainable communities with social, economic, and ecological diversity. Content and resources will be tailored to the group's needs while focusing on strategies for equity and engagement for all students.

Visits to the Rancho Los Alamitos, Los Angeles River, the Willow Springs Watershed, and the Long Beach Community Organic Garden will serve as field studies through which to learn and apply the concepts participants will be exposed to during the workshops.
