About The Program:


This year's NCAP TASC: Visual Arts focuses on exploring contemporary art practices, a new emphasis of the National Core Visual Arts Standards.

NCAP TASC sessions bring together art educators in support of arts education and to collaborate on new ideas for classroom integration.


Activities (2)

Session 1: Break Outside the Bowl of Fruit

Ever wonder how to discuss the seemingly static subject of the still life with your students?
Explore the endless possibilities for symbolism, history, and the personal story in the still life, while looking at traditional and contemporary artworks.
Bring a photo of the inside of your refrigerator for the hands on portion of the session.

Session 2: Landscape is not Just Defined by a Horizontal Line

Through using new materials and breaking with the Western ideal of one-point linear perspective, contemporary printmakers redefine the subject of landscape.
Bring a photo of a landscape to reimagine utilizing a variety of printmaking techniques.
