Foundations 3
Enhancing Thematic Units for World Languages and Common Core Literacy – theme for 2016-17:
“It’s a Woman’s World”

September 24, October 22, December 3, February 4, March 11, and a bonus day on April 29, 2016-2017


• Advocate for World Languages for the Common Core
• Instruct in the target language using authentic resources
• Create real-world, culturally relevant thematic units
• Infuse tech tools to engage all students
• Address the Common Core with a toolbox of literacy development strategies
• Guide instruction with essential questions and learning targets
• Use authentic resources, including video, text, and multi-media of all types
• Develop proficiency-based assessments: rubrics, formative, summative

All World Language, EL and Heritage Language teachers are welcome.
