Bio: The California Arts Project’s Executive Director is Kristine Alexander, a lifetime arts education advocate, educator, and leader. Ms. Alexander directs the TCAP network of university based, regional, professional development centers serving K - Post-secondary educators within California. Kristine’s work includes facilitating arts education program development, assessment, and designing and providing professional development for educators, administrators, parents, artists, and community members. Prior to her work as Executive Director, she was a regional site director of the RIMS California Arts Project, serving Riverside, Inyo, Mono, and San Bernardino Counties, and she was the Visual and Performing Arts Education Consultant for San Bernardino County Superintendent of Schools. Her academic background includes advanced degrees in visual arts, education, and postgraduate work in organizational leadership. Her career includes 15 years of teaching in the California public school system, being a designer of professional development, a volunteer child advocate, and artist. She has served as past president of a county arts council, PTA, and as founder and past president of both a parent support group and an arts education network. Over the years she has received recognition for her work with and commitment to education, children, and the arts.
