Position: Interim Site Director, East Bay California Arts Project
Closing Date: Open until filled.
Position Description:
Under the general supervision of The California Arts Project Executive Director
and the Faculty Advisor, the Site Director will be responsible for assisting
in the implementation of the vision/goals of the Project to meet the mission
of TCAP and local needs.
Essential Functions:
- Proposes directions/plans for site activities in alignment with the TCAP's mission and guidelines.
- Responsible for academic content of site program; fiscal procedures/accountability, personnel and
other administrative procedures.
- Directs the day-to-day administration, including budgets, supervision of staff, record keeping,
evaluations, and proposals.
- Communicates and consults with Faculty Advisor and Executive Director.
- Establishes and maintains partnerships with low performing and other schools.
- Coordinates development of site program/activities.
- Directs recruitment of participants.
- Responsible for gathering, inputting and quality control of evaluation and data related to regional
TCAP programs.
- Publishes/distributes communication on programs/activities.
- Participates when appropriate in regional/statewide deliberations/assessments in arts education.
- Performs other duties as assigned by the Executive Director
Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree (Master's preferred)
- California Teaching Credential preferred
- Teaching experience in one or more of the arts (dance, music, theatre, or visual arts)
in California public schools
- Experience in professional development in art education, including
standards, goals, and program evaluation desired
- Familiarity with area to be served
- TCAP member with leadership in TCAP
- Excellent analytical, language, presentation and interpersonal skills with the ability
to relate to education community and diverse population
- Knowledge of EBCAP membership and activities
Interim position, currently a 50% position, time percentage is somewhat flexible.
$20,000 for 10 month contract, September 1, 2003 to June 30, 2004.
Benefits are not included.
