TCAP's On Line Support and Resource for Candidates for National Board Certification
Welcome to the new TCAP Online Support and Resource for Candidates for National Board Certification. TCAP recognizes the value of National Board Certification process as an outstanding professional development opportunity for educators. The certification process of teacher self-reflection and inquiry that is sustained over time and linked to the teacher's own teaching situation and practice parallels the practices and values of TCAP. TCAP also recognizes the need for providing a collaborative environment to support arts educators before, during, and following the certification process. Many arts educators find themselves geographically isolated from colleagues or support providers. The TCAP Online Support and Resource will provide a working space for such educators.

Phase One of this new aspect to the TCAP website is what you find on line today. Phase One includes various general informational resources and an emerging Tutorial section to support the National Board Certification process for arts as well as generalist candidates.

Phase Two of this project will include specific resources for arts educators. Phase Two will also begin to pilot a virtual support environment. This environment will host on line dialogues, examinations of portfolio entries, and discussions between arts education candidates.

Please forward any ideas, suggestions, or comments that you feel would be useful in fully developing TCAP's National Board Online Resource to the TCAP webmaster.
