Our vision is for a school community where teachers reflect on their students’ work and their own practice. They study student work, assessing it carefully and using it to guide them in planning new lessons, and adjusting their teaching to address just the concepts and skills their students need. The California Subject Matter Projects (CSMP) exist to move our real world toward that ideal. The CSMPs in Region 3 conduct professional development that helps teachers to examine student performance and match effective, research-based teaching strategies to student needs.
