Marlin Adams has served as the Co-Executive Director of the California Reading and Literature Project at UC San Diego since 2000, following her tenure as Regional Site Director for the CRLP site at the University of California, Santa Cruz. Before her work with the CRLP, she coordinated the Teacher Internship Program through the Department of Education at UC Santa Cruz. There, she supervised teacher interns and taught both the Reading Methods and the ELD/Specially Designed Academic Instruction in English (SDAIE) courses. Her career includes 15 years in the California public school system as a bilingual elementary classroom teacher, reading specialist, and bilingual resource teacher. She has served as a reading consultant, curriculum writer, and professional development provider for the past 20 years, with a special emphasis in the area of academic literacy development for English learners. Adams holds a BA in Aesthetic Education/Performing Arts from UC Santa Cruz, a Clear BCLAD Multiple Subject Teaching Credential, also from UC Santa Cruz, and an Administrative Credential and MA in Education, Curriculum, and Instruction from Santa Clara University.

Clarisa Rojas currently serves as Co-Executive Director for the California Reading and Literature Project at UC San Diego. Prior to this, Ms. Rojas served as the Regional Site Director for the CRLP site at San Diego State University. From 1983 to 1999, Ms. Rojas served as the language arts resource specialist at Lincoln Acres for the National School District and previous to this, as a third and fourth grade biliteracy transition classroom teacher. Throughout her career, Ms. Rojas has focused on raising the literacy achievement and academic language development of all students, and particularly English learners. As co-director of CRLP, Ms. Rojas has participated in the creation of professional development programs focused on the improvement of reading/academic literacy and language instruction of PreK-12 teachers and administrators. She has worked closely with the Parent Institute for Quality Education as an instructor and has co-developed family literacy workshops with the organization. Ms. Rojas holds a BA, an administrative credential, a certificate in educational technology, and an MA in Educational Policy Studies, all from San Diego State University.
