Ronald Herring

In his early career, Ron combined teaching in California schools, a teacher professional development assignment in Philippine schools, graduate study in international development education, university administration in international studies, and management of a national alliance of organizations focused on strengthening teaching and learning in world affairs. His international studies work in schools and universities was joined through the legislative enactment of the California International Studies Project, which Ron has directed since 1985. He has undergraduate and graduate degrees in economics, anthropology, school administration, and international education.

Margee Ensign

As a political economist, Margee has made Sub-Saharan Africa, and especially Rwanda, a special area of concentration for her teaching, research, and project management in public health organizations. She has had teaching assignments at the University of Maryland, Tulane, and the University of the Pacific. At Pacific, she serves as Associate Provost and Dean of the School of International Studies (SIS). One of only four undergraduate international studies program in the nation, SIS is the only institution to require its graduates to live, study, and/or work abroad for a full year during their undergraduate years.
