Program: Institute at Occidental College: Standards-Based Instructional Practices, Spanish Speakers
The content of the program s as follows: a) theory and practice of standards-based instruction appropriate for heritage speakers of Spanish; b) standards-based academic content, framework-aligned lesson design and the instructional delivery sequence focused on developing learner literacy; c) suggestions for incorporating technology in the instructional program; d) strategies for working with English language learners and diverse, low-performing student populations, and e) reflection on practice, colleague collaboration, and leadership development
