This is an on-going series- we are currently in the third year of both of these series. District teachers from a variety of elementary and middle schools in Orcutt/ Ventura meet for a full day of writing and reading/literacy strategies. Teachers write from prompts and share their writing. Student samples of writing are shared. The group engages in inquiry through common readings. Discussions regarding educational issues are introduced, book titles are shared. Teachers report out on strategies they have tried in their classrooms since the last workshop. Additional mini-lessons of writing strategies are shared.
