Program: Continuity at UCSB's Cliff House: Fall Renewal 2009

These are programs that are provided three times a year, Fall, Winter and Spring at no cost for SCWriP fellows. The venues change, but generally one meeting each year is held in Ventura County, the other two being in Santa Barbara County, often on the campus of UCSB. Renewals are meant to be a supportive, motivating event for our teacher community and they generally feature a guest presenter, either from our own community or from another Writing Project within the National Writing Project. Teachers share events from their classroom practice, new books or articles of interest and engage in writing and sharing together. Guest speakers present a mini-lesson incorporating strategies of writing instruction that transfers back to teachers’ classrooms. A pot –lunch contributes to the community building aspect of these events.
