Program: Workshop at LD7: African Americans in the Ante-Bellum Period

Workshop at LD7: TAH PD-"African Americans in the Ante-Bellum Period"-This was one of a series of six all-day school year programs in our Teaching American History grant work with LA Unified's Local District 7.  In addition to a content lecture by UCLA's Dr. Joan Waugh, the session included the introduction of several pedagogy strategies-1) Comparison of indentured servitude and slavery, 2) an activity on material culture, 3) an activity on Black Activism in the North, and 4) further revision of summer lessons.
