San Benito County Office of Education is thrilled that one of our San Benito County Alternative Education teachers, Gloria Brooks, is taking the lead to facilitate having teachers come together to further develop their skills and knowledge about mathematics through the Math Talks. Gloria is an exceptional teacher and leader.
I
t’s wonderful that MBAMP will also be supporting the program. This collaboration is very much needed in our county.
Susan Villa, Ed.D., Deputy Superintendent, SBCOE
MBAMP’s primary mission is to enhance the mathematical and pedagogical expertise of teachers, while encouraging them to become teacher-leaders and to form teaching communities. Our guiding principle: As teachers deepen their mathematical understanding and fluency, they become better mentors to other teachers and better classroom instructors. The San Benito County Math Talks–proposed by Gloria Brown Brooks, SBCOE Teacher, and facilitated by MBAMP coach, Suzie Caughey–are supported by the San Benito County Office of Education. The Math Talks are designed to equip teachers with strategies and expectations that will enhance student learning.
