Through reading, analysis, discussion and demonstration, participants will study the California World Language Content Standards, the Foreign Language Framework for CA Public Schools, the effective instructional sequence, brain research on L2 acquisition, and differentiated learning modalities. Participants will develop and implement a lesson in which they demonstrate application of the above elements. On completion of the lesson, participants will write a reflection paper on the effectiveness of the lesson, including ideas for improvement or enhancement, and present a summary on the final day. TO EARN CE UNITS, PARTICIPANTS WILL BE REQUIRED TO ATTEND ALL 6 DAYS OF INSTRUCTION AND TO COMPLETE ALL ASSIGNMENTS. COST: $150/$75.00 for student teachers and year 1 or 2 teachers (proof required). Registration fee includes light breakfast, lunch, and all program materials.
