K-2 STARTS (Science and Technology Assistance for Rural Teachers and Small Districts) is a one of a kind program that allows teachers from select schools in Merced, San Joaquin, Stanislaus, and Tuolumne Counties to take part in a long term professional development that helps them integrate Science with Reading, Writing and Math. Participants are exposed to engaging content by university partners and expert teachers. They also learn to apply their new knowledge through exciting inquiry based teaching strategies that engage all learners.
