GVWP Interactive Demonstration Lab for Teaching Writing (Grades 7-12)

In this interactive demonstration workshop, teachers will investigate and analyze a variety of research-based instructional practices that dramatically increase motivation, confidence, and achievement at all ability levels. The course will focus on building foundations for at-risk, EL, and struggling writers with classroom-tested strategies that promote student discovery and independence at all ability levels. Participants will observe experienced teacher-consultants as they guide students in an exploration of genre study, mentor text, scaffolded instruction, and collaborative grouping. Together, teachers will discover effective ways to meet the unique writing needs of their students. Registration fee (includes materials): $40.00 (Full refund given to Manteca, Ripon, & SJCOE teachers and GVWP TCs who complete course requirements!) 3 units of extension credit available from CSU Stanislaus at $40.00 per unit.
