In partnership with the Library of Congress, the California History-Social Science Project is proud to present a series of free short workshops and longer institutes for teachers and librarians. Join us to learn how to use the Library of Congress’ rich reservoir of digitized primary source materials to design challenging, high-quality instruction. Upon completion of the program, participants will receive gift cards for their use.
TPS Level I Workshops
These ten-hour introductory workshops will provide you with an overview of the Library’s resources, specific tips to navigate the extensive online collection, and classroom-tested strategies to incorporate these resources into your teaching.
TPS Level II Institutes
We’ll hold two Level II Institutes this summer, one in Northern California and one in Southern California. Both institutes will feature presentations by leading historians, strategies to develop student understanding of the process of historical investigation and an extended opportunity to develop, test, and refine a unit of study enriched with resources from the Library’scollection.
