- enhancing language teaching in order to improve language learning at all levels
- providing opportunities for teacher collaboration and curriculum development
- modeling effective strategies of language teaching
- providing support for continuing development of language skills and cultural knowledge for language teachers and students
- partnering with schools and districts to provide high quality professional development and technical assistance to improve world language education
