Modeling and Designing Resources for Opinion/Argument Writing: Making Meaning: Using nonfiction texts as tools for writing (4-7)

Activities (1)
Making Meaning: Using nonfiction texts as tools for writing (4-7)
To inform opinion and argument writing, it’s necessary to read non-fiction that can be very challenging. This workshop will focus on ways to adapt primary sources and non-fiction articles for the younger reader. We will work on techniques to adapt the content without gutting the meaning, ideas for note taking and annotating, and assignments for assessing understanding of these challenging readings.
