Modeling and Designing Resources for CCSS Writing for ELLs: Amplify - Don't Simplify: The new ELD Standards Promote Sophisticated Analysis for our English Learners (8-12)

Amplify - Don't Simplify: The new ELD Standards promote sophisticated analysis for our English learners
Good news! The Common Core State Standards hold EL students to the same rigor as they do students in mainstream classes. Even better, the new California Standards for ELD are excellent and aligned with the CCSS. These new state standards focus on three key aspects of EL success: teacher awareness of Stages of Cognitive Development, students' native Language Literacy, and strategies for Long–Term English Learners. Marie Milner, who has taught a variety of English Learners in ELD, SDAIE, and mainstreamed classes, will demonstrate ways in which EL students can meet the demands of the new California ELD standards. Your EL students will write analytically, reflectively and engagingly while continuing to develop their English language skills. Presented by Marie Milner, Andrew P.
