Q: What is a browser?

A: A browser is the software required to use the CRLP Online system via the Internet. If you do not have a browser or access to the Internet you should use the stand-alone version of the software that was provided by CRLP on a CD. You are not required to submit your results using the Internet.

Q: I'm a site leader but don't have any students to enter, do I "make-up" the student data?

A: DO NOT "make-up" the data. The Site Leader needs to be a teacher who has data to enter as well. Identify/select another Site Leader/Teacher.

Q: I need help inputting data. Who can help?

A: The Site Leader, Regional Coordinator, CRLP, EDmin can help.

Discuss the situation/need with the Site Leader on how to obtain the necessary manpower/resources.

Q: The data did not seem to save. Where's the "Save" button?

A: Data is saved when you click the <Next>, <Update>, or <Add> buttons at the bottom of the screens.

Q: How do I delete students?

A: For data integrity purposes, users are not able to delete students. You may rename them as another student and continue to enter or revise the data for that student.

Q: Students who scored zero are not showing up on the reports. Why?

A: EDmin has fixed this problem so that all students are being displayed on the reports, including students receiving a score of zero.

Q: How do I reflect a 1/2 time position for the teacher support?

A: Please round all values to the appropriate whole number for these questions on the school site survey.

Q: The system prevents me from entering my entire class, it freezes after entering two students. Why?

A: It is possible that the ISP connection has timed out. Try restarting workstation and logging-in again.

Q: A student arbitrarily appeared in the wrong class and wrong school. Why?

A: It may be a keyboarding mis-match. Report the situation to EDmin with the teacher/student's full names for editing.

Q: How does the program allow teachers to enter individual assessment results?

A: Teachers can enter assessment results either individually or by class by selecting the appropriate link (By Student or By Class) under the Enter Assessment Scores link from the main menu.

Q: Am I able to edit the student information previously inputted into the system?

A: Yes. You can edit student information by selecting "View Class Roster" from the main menu. "View Class Roster" will display the Class Roster. Double-clicking on the student's name will put you in edit mode.

Q: Our teachers do not have e-mail accounts. What do we use?

A: An email account is not required to use the system. Please enter a telephone number instead and leave the e-mail section blank.

Q: What do I with the CD from CRLP? Can we do on-line registration and use the CD from CRLP?

A: The CD from CRLP is used to install and submit your results using the standalone software. The CD is not required and should not be used to submit results data using the CRLP Online system. Please DO NOT enter some of your results data using the Internet and some on the stand-alone software.

Q: The data entry person did not sign off after entering data for Teacher A, then entered data for Teacher B. All students are now showing up under Teacher A's Class Roster. How does one fix the class roster for Teacher B?

A: Report the situation to EDmin with the teachers' full names and a class roster for each teacher; e-mail is preferred. The edits need to be done by EDmin staff.

Q: I can't print the charts in black & white or color. Why?

A: It may be that the Background Color and Images printing is disabled. To fix:

For Internet Explorer, enable Background Color and Images printing.

Go to the Tools pull-down menu, Select Internet Options, Select the Advanced Tab, Scroll down to the Printing Section and check/enable (click on the box) "Print Background Color & Images."

For Netscape, check that the default colors for the Operating System is enabled.

Go to Edit, Preferences, Colors, and enable the "Use Windows Colors."
