1. CPE-HP will provide professional development centers through which teachers can refine their own understanding of content and pedagogy, then assume leadership roles in programs to increase the impact of instruction for students.
2. CPE-HP will actively recruit participants reflective of California’s rich demographic diversity.
3. CPE-HP will create networks to support teachers in their efforts to enhance student performance against state standards.
4. CPE-HP will develop partnerships for the purpose of extending the impact of our programs into other venues.
5. CPE-HP will evaluate the effectiveness of programs through various forms of assessment.

The overall goal is to help students understand the vital importance of physically active lifestyles and positive health behaviors.
