Invitational Summer Institute
Fractions and ELD
July 1 to July 11, 2008 (no session on July 4)
8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
Teachers of grades 3‹7 are invited to join us this summer for an eight-day Institute at Lawrence Hall of Science focused on fractions and decimals. We will address the teaching strategies to support students understanding of rational numbers and include a particular focus for reaching English learners (ELs). The Institute will continue with two Saturday meetings during the academic year.
Fee $750 includes materials and daily lunch
Stipend $500 for full participation in the Institute and attendance at the two Saturday session during 2008-09 academic year.

BAMP/BASP Saturday Seminars
Each year, four BAMP/BASP Saturday Seminars are planned and led by BAMP and BASP teacher leaders to provide professional development and networking opportunities for Bay Area mathematics and science educators. The seminars are on Saturday mornings from 8:30 a.m. to 12:45 p.m.
