Since few individuals alone possess the full knowledge or competence to solve complicated problems or manage complex tasks, the world of work involves people interacting in teams and groups. In CISP, teams bring together the diverse and complementary knowledge, skills, talents, and strengths of collaborating members, whether these are students in a classroom or teacher leaders responsible for the design of staff development programs in partner schools and districts. Teachers who participate in project site activities as pairs or teams provide critically important mutual support and reinforcement for one another. Operating within their home environments, such teams becomes entities that sustain -- and extend to a wider group of fellow teachers -- a rich professional dialogue about essential reforms in teaching and learning.
