Long-term Perspectives

Professional growth is a patient, deliberate process that requires in-depth, systematic and continuous experiences in subject matter and instructional strategies that are relevant to historical and international knowledge and skills. Such intensity and continuity are essential to enable participants to advance steadily toward progressively higher levels of competence and professionalism. This kind of growth cannot be achieved through involvement in occasional or disconnected experiences, but rather through sequentially connected, intensive staff development activities that are reinforced by follow-up programs and support structures and processes.
